SEQ L2 Coaching Open Water Swimming

This course has been designed to provide learners with the specialist knowledge required to plan and deliver open water swimming sessions.

• The legal aspects of delivering open water swimming sessions; risk assessments.
• The role and responsibilities of an Open Water Swimming Coach; managing the environment.
• Open water venues; Sea, Lake, River
• Swimming lessons; planning, delivery, equipment, review
• Communication skills of an Open water Coach
• Open Water swimming skills

SEQ L2 Coaching Open Water Swimming Specification here.

• Learners must be at least 16 years of age or older on the first day of the course.
• Be able to demonstrate experience of Open Water Swimming.

And must have one of the following:

• SEQ L2 Teaching Swimming ( or ASA equivalent)
• ASA L2 Certificate in Coaching Swimming
• Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate
• 1^st 4sport L2 Certificate in Coaching Triathlon
• RLSS Pool to Pond Award
